After a slight lull in Blogs, I’m listening to your recent requests of where to focus my pen. A regular question I get asked, what is Trance? What should it really sound like?
I’m the first to admit that I’m a very private person and always been uncomfortable with social media regardless if it’s for personal life or my career. The last decade this world has changed, take a look around and you’ll see most people with their heads down looking at a screen in their hand, this is the new world that I’m being forced to become a part off and being quite an unsocial hermit of a studio/music geek this has been quite a challenging transition.
I have a treat for you this month in the form of an extended Turbo mix. I’ve been getting in the habit of recording some live sets, this was from VERSOin San Francisco, in order to squeeze this in there’s no new MP3 or track of the month section. This Turbo mix follows a lovely hypnotic Deep mix.
My quest continues to give a platform and support new up & coming artists, this month Shugz Music from Northern Ireland takes control of the guest mix.
I’m extremely proud to present to you my new single ‘Altered senses’. This track was born due to a musical void while finding music for my DJ sets. I needed a euphoric uplifting track, but keeping credibility in tact, my hunt proved a hard task, so turned to my studio to create something that I wanted and I hope you enjoy the finished product as much as I did creating it.
I turned to two of my favourite producers to conduce remix duties both Synthetic VS Valys and Deedrah have created something outstanding.
I also found an old track that I made a while back and completely forgot about it, so included this in the package too ‘forgotten’. https://www.beatport.com/release/altered-senses/1797996
Today is a very big day for not only myself and JOOF Recordings, but musically for the scene. I’ve been fortunate to work with Vibrasphere in the past and released their music on JOOF, we can all say that we were devastated when we got the news thats Vibrasphere had split and the wonderful music had come to an end. This left a huge gap musically in the scene.
